Berkey & Gay Mahogany Side Table

Berkey & Gay Mahogany Side Table Review

Take home a piece of AmericaÕs past with this lovely American Berkey & Gay Mahogany Side Table that hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan. This historic table has interesting mahogany grain patterns, an intricate open carved top skirt, fluted legs and an X stretcher. The straight-lined design of the legs and stretcher work very well with the carved skirt, and add just the right finishing touch to this classic design. The Berkey & Gay Mahogany Side Table has the original brass Berkey & Gay label, is in the original finish, and measures 25.00Ó H X 24.00Ó W X 15.00Ó D. Please note, there is a small chip out of one piece of the side molding, however it would be easy to repair. As a side note, Berkey & Gay became one of the leading nineteenth century high quality furniture manufacturers in America. Berkey & Gay began as Berkey & Eggleston in 1859 and was purchased by Simmons Company of Rockford, Illinois in 1929. They went bankrupt in 1932 and reopened for war work from 1941 Ð 1945. They produced furniture from 1945 until the company dissolved in 1954. The factory is now on the National Registry of Historic Places.
